- Find one teammate and make sure you know everything
(s)he is supposed to know on the line.
- Use that teammate's name and tell them you will be talking to
them.
Defense
- For marks on the disc, the most useful thing you can do is
tell them what threats are behind them, for example: No break,
straight up, or Strike!
- Everyone can echo "Up" and "Fire" calls when the disc is
thrown, or we abandon zone for man.
- Help identify changes in priority when a new cutter threatens
your teammate's zone.
Offense:
- unless there is a gross cutting error, usually the only useful
communication is a direction ("à gauche" or "à droit") to help
the receiver find the disc on a long throw. Otherwise it
is typically best to let the handlers direct and the cutters
communicate amongst themselves, and only offer occasional moral
encouragement.
Transition:
- our default defense on a turnover is Person, but there will be
times when we can the line captain wants us to be ready to set a
zone in transition. 2-3-2 particularly lends itself to
this. The decision on whether or not to "Set!" is
typically called by the Deep, but should be echoed loudly by the
sideline.
